Sprague Parts

Robert C. Sprague founded Sprague Specialties in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1926 and moved it to North Adams in 1930. Sprague Electric became a major capacitor maker, and its Orange Drop film capacitors date from the late 1960s. It sold its semiconductor business to Sanken in 1990, which became Allegro MicroSystems, and Vishay bought much of the capacitor line in 1993.

The Sprague parts here are ceramic disc capacitors rated 1 kV and 6 kV, in NPO and other temperature-compensating types, Orange Drop polyester film capacitors, radial aluminum electrolytics, gold-lead transistors, and Darlington driver and motor driver ICs.

Orange Drop capacitors are valued by musicians and audio builders for tone and amplifier circuits; match capacitance and voltage when you replace one.
