Product Overview
Burndy YA29-2N Copper Compression Lug for 250 kcmil Cable, Two-Hole NEMA Pad, Yellow Die 16
Condition
Unused NOS lug in excellent condition with nothing out of the ordinary noted. The photographed piece is representative of the stock. The pad is stamped YA29-2N, 250 kcmil (N250) and YELLOW DIE 16, with three embossed agency marks including a circled UL mark alongside the first bolt hole. The tin plating is a uniform matte grey with the mottled texture normal to a plated copper barrel, and the photos show no corrosion and no distortion at either bolt hole. The barrel carries its yellow die-color band with silver stripes and factory printing, and the end-on photo shows the bore round, open and never crimped. Original packaging, instructions, and paperwork are not included. Sourced from legacy electronics supply chain recovery inventory. Evaluation: Visual inspection only. Function testing not performed.

Product Overview
The Burndy YA29-2N is a straight barrel copper compression terminal sized for 250 kcmil copper cable, with a flat two-hole pad on 1.75 inch center-to-center NEMA spacing and a 1/2 inch stud size. The conductor code N250 and the tooling index YELLOW DIE 16 are stamped into the pad itself, so the installer can read the correct die color and index off the part in the field rather than chasing a catalog page. Construction is copper with tin electroplate. Overall length is 5.21 inches and width is 1.09 inches; against the ruler in the photos the lug measures approximately 5-1/4 inches end to end, consistent with that published figure. It is the ordinary heavy termination for panel feeders, switchgear stabs, transformer pads and bonding runs where 250 kcmil conductor meets a two-hole landing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What cable and stud size is this lug built for?
It is specified for 250 kcmil copper cable and a 1/2 inch stud. Both figures come from the listing data, and the pad itself is stamped 250 kcmil (N250).
What hole spacing does the pad use?
1.75 inch center-to-center, the standard NEMA two-hole pattern, which is what lets it drop onto a NEMA-drilled bus or breaker pad without redrilling.
Which die do I crimp it with?
The pad reads YELLOW DIE 16. That is the tooling index Burndy stamped on the part, and it is legible in the photos. Match it to your own compression tool's die chart before you crimp; we cannot tell you what tooling you have.
Is it copper or aluminum?
The listing specifies copper with tin electroplate, which is why the finish photographs as a matte grey rather than bare copper red. If your application turns on that distinction, verify against the Burndy catalog data for YA29-2N before you order.
What am I actually getting, and what is on me?
One unused NOS lug, uncrimped, with the photographed piece representative of the stock on the shelf, sold on visual inspection only. No crimp test, no pull test and no electrical test was performed here, and no original packaging or instruction sheet comes with it, so the photos and the stamped markings are the spec. What is on you is the install: confirm your conductor really is 250 kcmil, confirm your bus drilling is 1.75 inch NEMA on a 1/2 inch stud, and confirm your compression tool carries the yellow die 16 index. Shipping is $8 flat rate and free once your order passes $28, and orders leave our Idaho warehouse the same or next business day.
Burndy stamped the die color right into the pad because somebody in a bucket truck at 2 a.m. should not have to find a catalog. Read it, set your dies, and put 250 kcmil where it belongs.
