Product Overview
Keyence FU-32 is a side-view thrubeam fiber optic sensor unit designed for precise detection in restricted machine spaces. Operating with compatible Keyence fiber optic amplifiers like the FS-N and FS-V series, this unit directs a narrow 0.6 mm optical axis at a right angle from the probe tip. The thin stainless steel sleeve probe allows insertion into tight machine cavities, guide rails, or automated assembly fixtures where standard through-beam sensors cannot fit.
Key Features
- Sensing method: Side-view thrubeam (through-beam) fiber optic unit
- Optical axis diameter: 0.6 mm
- Probe design: Thin stainless steel cylindrical sleeve
- Fiber unit diameter: 1.3 mm
- Minimum bend radius: R25 mm
- Operating temperature range: -40°C to +70°C (-40°F to +158°F)
- Compatible amplifiers: Keyence FS-N series, FS-V series, and standard 1.3 mm fiber optic amplifiers
Applications
- Aligning and verifying miniature components, lead frames, or sub-millimeter parts on automated assembly lines
- Detecting edge positioning or part passage through narrow slots in packaging and sorting machinery
- Monitoring filament feeding, wire travel, or precision mechanical stop points in custom automation builds
- Optics experiments, custom robotics end-effector sensing, and benchtop automated sorting jigs
Frequently Asked Questions
Which amplifiers work with the FU-32?
Compatible with Keyence FS-N series (such as FS-N10 and FS-N40), FS-V series (such as FS-V30 and FS-V20), and standard industrial fiber optic amplifiers designed for 1.3 mm diameter fiber terminations.
Are mounting brackets or amplifier units included?
Not included.
What is the optical configuration of this fiber unit?
Side-view thrubeam. Light emits at a right angle relative to the stainless sleeve axis, requiring an opposing thrubeam receiver or paired fiber aligned along the optical axis to complete the sensing circuit.
What condition is this unit in?
This unit is used surplus. Evaluation: Visual inspection only. Function testing not performed. Probe sleeve and optical fiber show normal handling wear. More pieces cost less each - the price-break table on this page shows what each quantity costs.
When standard sensors are simply too bulky for the seam, a side-looking needle probe gets light right where the action happens. Route the lead, align the beam, and let the line run.
