Motorola Semiconductor Parts
Motorola was one of the largest semiconductor makers of the transistor and early IC era. Its standard-products business was spun off as ON Semiconductor in 1999, and the rest of its chip business became Freescale in 2004, so a part with the Motorola logo generally dates from before, or shortly after, those changes.
How to spot one: the Motorola "batwing" M logo, and Motorola prefixes such as MC, MJ, MJE and MPS on parts that also carry industry-standard 2N and TIP numbers. Motorola also made crystals and radio parts, including KXN channel elements.
