Intel Parts
Intel was founded in 1968 in Mountain View, California, by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, who had left Fairchild Semiconductor. Its microprocessors, microcontrollers and support chips set the pattern for early personal computers.
The Intel parts here are vintage support and control chips: dynamic RAM controllers, MCS-48 ROMless 8-bit microcontrollers, UPI-42 keyboard controllers of the kind that handled the keyboard and the A20 gate in PC/AT-class machines, programmable peripheral interfaces and CMOS flash memory.
How to spot one: the letter ahead of the number gives the package. P is plastic DIP, D is ceramic CERDIP, C is ceramic DIP and N is a PLCC.
