Product Overview
Pomona Electronics B-24-2 is a 24-inch stacking banana plug patch cord in red. Built for bench routing, circuit patching, and diagnostic work, it features stacking banana jacks on the rear of each plug so additional test leads can daisy-chain from a single connection point. Contacts are beryllium copper with nickel plating - a step above standard brass for connection consistency over many insertion cycles. Wire is 18 AWG high-flex construction with polypropylene housings molded directly over the plug body and wire for strain relief. Fits any equipment with standard 4mm banana jacks.

- Stacking banana jack on rear of each plug - accepts additional 4mm banana plugs front and vertical
- Compatible with standard 4mm banana jack equipment
Applications
- Routing signals between test points on a breadboard without running out of connection space - the stacking jack lets a tech probe one node with two instruments at once
- Jumping a reference voltage from a bench power supply to multiple points in a circuit under test, without rewiring between measurements
- Color-coding positive rails in a lab wiring setup - red for positive, stacked with a multimeter lead and a scope probe at the same terminal
- Home lab builders connecting a bench power supply, a DMM, and a project board in a tidy configuration without adapter clutter
- Electronics students building and reconfiguring circuits on a breadboard, probing at multiple nodes without disconnecting and reconnecting leads constantly
Frequently Asked Questions
What connectors does this cable use, and will it fit my gear?
Both ends terminate in standard 4mm banana plugs. Each plug also has a rear-facing stacking banana jack so additional 4mm banana plugs can be plugged in. Works with any DMM, bench power supply, function generator, or test fixture with standard 4mm banana binding posts.
What are the voltage limits I need to know before using this?
Hand-held use: 30 VAC or 60 VDC maximum. Hands-free use in a controlled enclosure: 5,000 WVDC maximum. The hand-held limit is the safety limit for operator contact - stay within it whenever you are handling the leads.
Is anything else included?
One patch cord. No adapters or accessories included.
What does the stacking feature actually do?
Each banana plug has a second 4mm banana jack built into its rear. You can plug another test lead into that rear jack to share the same connection point - useful when you need both a DMM and a second instrument, or two leads, at one binding post without a splitter or adapter.
A government research facility kept this cord in its bag, unpluggled, until now. Wherever it ends up next - breadboard, bench supply, or a DMM on a cluttered workbench - it gets to start fresh.
