DEUTSCH HD44-18-8PN-059 Circular Connector Kit, Unused and Still Bagged

Condition

Unused, new old stock, described by us as an original OEM kit with all its pieces. It is supplied in its original clear zip-top poly bag, still closed, with the printed Deutsch instruction sheet folded in behind the parts. That sheet is headed "DEUTSCH IPD KIT NUMBER" with HD44-18-8PN-059 printed to the right of it, and it carries a Westpark Rd., Centerville, OH 45459 address and an 800 number along the bottom edge. Through the plastic the hardware reads as untouched: a bright aluminum-color threaded circular shell with no scuffing on the coupling threads, a clean red insert face, a banding-style clamp with its teeth unmarked, a black grommet, two yellow plastic contact tools, a loose contact, and a retaining ring. We have not opened the bag to lay the contents out and count them, so treat the photos as the guide to what is visible rather than a parts list.

Same or next business day shipping from our Idaho warehouse. Honest pricing, no nonsense.

Product Overview

This is a Deutsch HD44 series circular connector kit sold under kit number HD44-18-8PN-059, the number printed in the top right corner of the instruction sheet packed with it. The kit is built around a threaded metal shell connector with a red insert, the environmentally sealed style used on off-highway equipment, engine and machine wiring where vibration, weather and grease are part of the job. The enclosed sheet is the crimping procedure for tool HDT-48-00 and walks through selector-knob setup, contact insertion, crimping and inspection, plus a contact-removal sequence using the yellow plastic tools shown in the photos. Contacts, seals and wedges are visible inside the bag but cannot be counted reliably through the plastic, so match the kit number against your own Deutsch documentation for the exact arrangement before you order.

  • Visible in the bag: shell, banding-style clamp, black grommet, retaining ring, two yellow contact tools, at least one loose contact and small hardware

Applications

  • Heavy equipment technician rebuilding a chafed harness end on a dozer or loader and wanting the connector and its small parts together in one bag
  • Agricultural mechanic replacing a weather-damaged circular connector on a sprayer or combine wiring run
  • Fleet shop keeping a shelf kit on hand so a broken engine harness plug does not park a truck for a week
  • Restorer or fabricator terminating a new loom on older machinery that was originally built around Deutsch HD44 hardware

Frequently Asked Questions

What is actually inside the bag?

What we can see through the plastic: the threaded shell connector with its red insert, a banding-style clamp, a black grommet, a retaining ring, two yellow plastic contact tools, at least one loose metal contact, and additional small hardware behind the instruction sheet. We have not opened the bag to spread the pieces out, so we are not publishing a piece count. The photos show every side we can photograph without breaking the bag open.

Can you confirm the contact count and gender?

Not by counting. The insert face is visible in the close photos but the cavities cannot be counted with confidence through the plastic. What is confirmed is the kit number, HD44-18-8PN-059, exactly as printed on the enclosed sheet. Match that number to your Deutsch documentation for the contact arrangement rather than relying on a count from a photograph.

Do I need a special tool to crimp these contacts?

The instruction sheet packed with the kit is written for crimp tool HDT-48-00 and gives the selector setting, insertion and inspection steps for it. That tool is not included here, only the printed procedure. The sheet also lists recommended strip lengths by contact size, so a shop already set up for Deutsch contacts has what it needs to work from.

Is the bag sealed from the factory?

It is a zip-top poly bag and it is closed, but we would not call it factory sealed. It has not been opened on our end. The parts inside show no handling marks we can see, which is consistent with the unused new old stock condition this kit has always carried.

Why buy a bagged kit like this instead of chasing a surplus lot or an auction pallet?

Because a connector kit is a one-per-harness-end purchase, not something you buy by the box. Here you get one bagged kit, sold on its own, with the kit number legible on the enclosed sheet in the photos - the photographed bag is representative of our stock, and packaging or markings may vary slightly from piece to piece. A mixed connector lot or a pallet of harness takeoffs is a gamble on shells you cannot identify and small parts nobody counted. Shipping is $8 flat rate and free once the whole order passes $28, so a kit like this rides along at no shipping cost with the rest of a harness repair order, and everything leaves our Idaho warehouse the same or next business day.

Deutsch built the HD44 for mud, vibration and a wrench in the dark, and this one has spent its whole working life inside a plastic bag instead. Cut it open the day your machine's harness finally asks for it.
