Product Overview

NI SCXI-1302 Terminal Block - 50 Screw Terminals for SCXI Feedthrough Wiring

Condition

Unused, New Old Stock; clean and in excellent condition. The seal on the bag is broken, but the unit shows no signs of installation or use. The photos show a white front cover with no scuffs, chips, or hand marks, the front label field still blank, and the black foam in the strain relief slot intact. Both knurled captive thumbscrew heads are present and unmarred (their threads sit inside the housing and are not shown), the black retaining loops are present at each end, and the rear 50-pin connector shows bright, undisturbed contacts. The rear label is unmarked and fully legible: MODEL SCXI-1302, PART NO 185163A-01, SERIAL NO 1204E6C, with CE, C-tick N114, and WEEE marks and Product of Hungary.

Product Overview

The SCXI-1302 is National Instruments' 50-terminal screw block for bringing external signals into an SCXI system, designed to connect field wiring to the SCXI-1180 feedthrough module at the front of an SCXI chassis. Fifty screw terminals accept 26-16 AWG conductors, a strain relief clamp holds the incoming cable bundle, and a 1-pole RC low-pass filter with a 0.16 Hz corner frequency sits in the signal path with DC rejection to +/-50 V. The enclosure is shielded with grounding support and is DIN rail compatible. This exact piece is the one photographed: the rear label reads PART NO 185163A-01, SERIAL NO 1204E6C, and the front panel carries the molded warnings MAX 42V/CAT I CHAN - CHAN and MAX 42V/CAT I CHAN - EARTH beside a blank white label field for writing in channel assignments.

Key Features

  • Screw terminals: 50, tool-free field signal wiring
  • Wire range: 26-16 AWG
  • Filtering: 1-pole RC low-pass, 0.16 Hz corner frequency
  • DC rejection: up to +/-50 V
  • Front panel marking: MAX 42V/CAT I, channel to channel and channel to earth
  • Enclosure: shielded, with grounding support and integral strain relief clamp
  • Mounting: front of SCXI chassis via two captive knurled thumbscrews; DIN rail compatible
  • Pairing: built for the NI SCXI-1180 feedthrough module
  • Rear label: MODEL SCXI-1302, PART NO 185163A-01, SERIAL NO 1204E6C
  • Agency marks: CE and C-tick N114; Product of Hungary

Applications

  • Test engineer landing 50 field conductors on an SCXI-1180 feedthrough module instead of building a custom cable harness
  • Lab technician recommissioning a legacy SCXI chassis that arrived without its front terminal block
  • Maintenance tech on a production test stand swapping out a terminal block with stripped screws or a broken thumbscrew
  • Systems integrator terminating sensor field wiring ahead of a LabVIEW or NI-DAQmx acquisition run

Frequently Asked Questions

Which SCXI module does this terminal block go with?

It is built to connect external signals to the National Instruments SCXI-1180 feedthrough module and mounts to the front of the SCXI chassis with its two captive thumbscrews. Fit with any other SCXI module is not confirmed here - check your module's manual before ordering.

What wire can I land in the terminals?

The block takes 26-16 AWG conductors across all 50 screw terminals, and the strain relief clamp behind the front cover holds the cable bundle so the terminals are not carrying the weight. The visible front panel warnings limit working voltage to MAX 42V/CAT I, channel to channel and channel to earth.

Has it been electrically tested?

No. This is a passive screw-terminal block sold as unused New Old Stock, graded by inspection rather than by a bench test. What we can confirm is what the photos show: no installation marks, both captive thumbscrew heads present and unmarred, and an undisturbed rear connector. Verify the 0.16 Hz filter behavior against the NI documentation if your measurement depends on it.

How do I confirm I am getting this exact unit?

The rear label in the photos reads MODEL SCXI-1302, PART NO 185163A-01, SERIAL NO 1204E6C, under a barcode, with CE, C-tick N114, and WEEE symbols and Product of Hungary. That serial belongs to the piece that ships.

Why buy this one photographed block instead of hunting a surplus SCXI lot?

Because there is exactly one here, and you can see every side of it before you spend a dollar: front panel, rear label, serial number, connector, thumbscrews. A pallet of retired SCXI gear might hold a terminal block, or it might hold three chassis and no front modules, and either way you are paying freight on the whole crate to find out. This block clears the free-shipping line on its own, and orders leave our Idaho warehouse the same or next business day.

Fifty terminals, one blank white label field, and a serial number from a Hungarian assembly line that has long since moved on to other work. Fill in the channel names in pencil and let this block go back to doing the quiet job it was built for.
