RCA 2N3055 Power Transistor Pulled Together With Its Socket, Insulators, and Screws
Condition
Used, clean, and in good shape - pulled personally from what I believe was part of an old power monitoring rack. The TO-3 can is steel with a light satin patina and no dents; the top reads RCA, 2N3055, G11G7, and C 79 13 - the house code is lightly stamped but legible in the photos. The matching TO-3 socket comes with it: the top insulator has aged to a yellow-olive tone, and the underside shows three solder lugs with short wire tails still attached (blue-and-white, white, and green-and-white), plus one lead of the included ceramic power resistor soldered to a lug. Expect to desolder and clean those tails before you reuse the socket. Also included: a clear TO-3 insulating washer, a blue-grey silicone thermal pad, and two black pan-head screws. Not electrically tested.

What exactly is included?

Has the transistor been tested?
No. This is a visual grade only. The can is clean, the markings are legible, and the mounting flange is straight, but we have not curve-traced it or checked gain. Verify against the 2N3055 datasheet and your own bench test before you commit it to a build.
Why are there wires still soldered to the socket?
Because that is how it came out of the rack, and we would rather ship it honest than trim it and hide the history. The tails are short and the lugs are intact in the photos. A soldering iron and some wick will have the socket ready in a couple of minutes.
Is the ceramic resistor part of the deal?
Yes, it is included with the set. It reads CP-5, 7906, .33 ohm 10% 5W on the body and one lead is still soldered to a socket lug. We have not measured its resistance, so treat it as a bonus part rather than a spec'd component.
