Product Overview

Indicating Pressure Switch Gauge with Reed Switch Output, 30-0-100 PSI, Unused NOS

Condition

Unused, New Old Stock. Factory clean-room packed and kept in original manufacturer packaging. The dial face is bright and unmarked, reading IPS-200 PRESSURE SWITCH with USE NO OIL in red, and the chrome bezel and polished case show no installation marks. The process gland still wears its red plastic protective cap and the remains of the factory poly bag. The orange WARNING label and the white CAUTION label ("Verify correct switch contact state before connecting wiring") are both intact on the case. It ships in its original Ametek U.S. Gauge Division PMT Products box, which shows shelf wear at the corners; the box label reads MODEL NO. IPS-200-HA, RANGE 30-0-100 PSI, SPEC. NO. 151133, TRACKING CODE M36-346, CONN. LMF, SIZE 2 in.

Product Overview

The Ametek IPS-200-HA pairs a 2 in indicating pressure gauge with a magnetically actuated, hermetically sealed reed switch, so one port gives you both a local reading and a discrete on-off signal. The HA configuration closes the contacts on increasing pressure, and a black arm on the dial face is printed CLOSES ON INCR so the action is readable at the panel. The dial covers a compound 30-0-100 range, marked in Hg vac on the vacuum side and psi on the pressure side, with a red index pin set in the upper psi portion of the ring. A seamless, TIG-welded stainless body and an electropolished 316L wetted path support high-purity and corrosive gas service, and the gland collar in our photos is engraved SWAGELOK VCR 316 P TJ, identifying a VCR face-seal connection rather than a tapered pipe thread. The dial is signed AMETEK and MADE IN U.S.A.; the box carries the U.S. Gauge Division PMT Products imprint from Feasterville, Pennsylvania.

Key Features

  • Indicating pressure switch gauge: 2 in dial with visual indication plus switch output
  • Range: 30-0-100, marked 30 in Hg vac through 0 to 100 psi
  • HA action - switch closes on increasing pressure (dial marked CLOSES ON INCR)
  • Hermetically sealed, magnetically actuated reed switch
  • Adjustable setpoint, adjusted from the front of the dial per the original specification
  • 316L stainless steel wetted parts, electropolished to 10 Ra or better
  • 1/4 in low-mount female process connection; gland collar engraved SWAGELOK VCR 316 P TJ
  • Helium leak tested to 10-9 scc/sec
  • Two-conductor black lead exits through a rubber grommet in the rear cover; recessed terminal block on the rear face secured by two screws
  • Dial marked USE NO OIL for oxygen and clean gas service
  • Box label: model IPS-200-HA, spec no. 151133, tracking code M36-346, conn. LMF

Applications

  • Semiconductor fab technician building a specialty gas panel who needs local indication and a dry contact at one point
  • Process engineer setting a high-pressure alarm on a toxic or corrosive gas line without adding a powered transmitter
  • Maintenance electrician wiring a simple interlock to a PLC input or low-voltage relay on a control panel
  • Lab or cleanroom builder monitoring a compound vacuum-to-pressure line where oil-free service is required

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a transmitter with an analog output?

No. It is a switch gauge. You get a visual reading on the 2 in dial and a discrete on-off contact at the setpoint, not a proportional 4-20 mA or voltage signal.

What kind of process connection is on it?

The box label lists the connection as LMF (low mount female), described in this listing as 1/4 in. In our close-up photos the gland collar is engraved SWAGELOK VCR 316 P TJ, so it mates as a VCR face-seal gland rather than a threaded pipe port. Confirm the VCR size against your own fitting and gasket before ordering.

How is the switch setpoint adjusted?

From the front, per the original specification. We cannot tell you which element is the hand-moved index from the photos alone: the dial carries a black arm printed CLOSES ON INCR that rests at 0 alongside the pressure pointer, a separate red index pin that reads at roughly 68 psi, and two slotted screws at the bottom of the face. Follow Ametek's use and installation instructions for the adjustment procedure. For the most repeatable actuation, set the trip point within the mid-span of the range rather than near either end.

Does the reed switch need input power to work?

No. The reed switch is magnetically actuated by the movement, so it does not require input power to change state. Contact ratings are not confirmed here - verify them against Ametek's use and installation instructions before wiring, and note the case CAUTION label asking you to verify the correct switch contact state first.

Why buy this single gauge here instead of a minimum-order lot from a gas panel supplier?

Because a panel rebuild usually needs one switch gauge, not a box of five. PartsMine sells the exact quantity you need. Shipping is $8 flat rate and free over $28, and orders go out same or next business day from Idaho, which for a one-piece buy is almost always cheaper than meeting somebody's minimum.

U.S. Gauge built these in Feasterville for panels where a single drop of oil counted as a contamination event, which is why USE NO OIL is printed in red right under the pointer. Still capped, still boxed, still waiting on the gas line you are about to finish.
