Product Overview

Phoenix Contact 1754601, type MSTB 2,5/10-ST, is a 10-position plug for pluggable printed-circuit board connections. Wires land in screw clamps on one face, and the female contacts on the other face plug onto a 5.0 mm pitch male header, so the board can come out while the field wiring stays landed in the plug.

Key Features

  • 10 positions at 5.0 mm pitch
  • Plug component with female contacts, tin contact surface
  • Screw connection with tension sleeve, M3 slotted screws, 0.5 to 0.6 Nm tightening torque
  • Conductors 0.2 to 2.5 mm2 solid or flexible, 0.25 to 2.5 mm2 with ferrule; AWG 24 to 12 (30 to 12 under UL/cUL)
  • IEC: 12 A nominal current; 250 V (III/3), 320 V (III/2), 630 V (II/2)
  • cULus Recognized: Group B 15 A 300 V, Group D 15 A 150 V; CSA Group B 15 A 300 V
  • Green PA insulating housing, UL 94 V0

Applications

  • Landing sensor, limit switch and motor leads on a control board so the board unplugs for service with the wiring left in place
  • Building a 10-wire harness for a controller, power supply or instrument board fitted with a 10-position 5.0 mm header
  • Giving a homemade CNC, printer or lighting controller a removable wire landing instead of soldered leads

Frequently Asked Questions

What wire sizes does it take?

AWG 24 to 12, or 0.2 to 2.5 mm2 solid or flexible. With ferrules, 0.25 to 2.5 mm2.

How tight should the screws be?

0.5 to 0.6 Nm on the M3 clamp screws.

Will it plug onto a 5.08 mm (0.2 in) header?

It is built for 5.0 mm pitch. From the first contact to the tenth, a 5.08 mm header runs 0.72 mm longer, so pair this plug with a 10-position male header at 5.0 mm pitch.

COMBICON is the family name Phoenix Contact gives its plug-in board connectors, and a green row of slotted screws like this one is the face of it. Strip the wire ends, grab a small flat screwdriver and start landing.
