Product Overview

Unused Amphenol MS3102A14S-5P Bulkhead Receptacle, Five Male Pins and Empty Solder Cups

Condition

Unused, new old stock. The cast aluminum shell carries its original olive drab finish, mottled and a little darker along the flange edges where it has been handled in storage, and nothing bent, dented, or cracked shows in any of the frames. The coupling threads are full and clean. On the rear the five gold colored solder cups are bright and completely empty: no solder, no tinning residue, no clipped wire ends sitting in the cups. The black insert is intact and the contact positions read clearly as A through E on both the pin face and the solder cup face. The front insert is molded AMPHENOL with the 14S-5 arrangement callout, and the rear shell is stamped with the AMPHENOL name and MS3102A14S-5, wrapped around the barrel so no single photo catches the whole line at once.

Product Overview

The Amphenol MS3102A14S-5P is a box mounting bulkhead receptacle from the MIL-DTL-5015 (MS) circular connector family, the olive drab hardware that fed wiring through the wall of a radio case, a generator cabinet, or a ground support cart. It carries five conductors through a panel on a square four hole flange, and the threaded shell gives the mating plug's coupling nut something to pull down on so the joint does not shake loose. The P suffix means pin contacts, so this is the male half: five pins at the mating end, five solder cups at the wiring end. Insert arrangement 14S-5 in shell size 14S, single key and keyway for one way polarization, cast aluminum body with a rubber grommet insert, and positions lettered A through E on both faces so a wiring list transfers straight onto the part. The number is also written MS3102A-14S-5P. Contact current rating and recommended wire gauge are not confirmed here - verify them against the 14S-5 insert arrangement table or the Amphenol datasheet before building a harness around it.

  • Polarization: single key and keyway
  • Body: cast aluminum with olive drab finish
  • Insert: rubber grommet insert, positions marked A through E on both faces
  • Mounting: square flange with four corner holes
  • Markings: AMPHENOL and 14S-5 molded on the front insert, AMPHENOL MS3102A14S-5 stamped around the rear shell
  • Condition: unused, new old stock
  • Current rating and wire gauge: not confirmed - verify against the datasheet before use

Applications

  • Radio restorer rewiring a military set or a generator control panel that expects an MS bulkhead feedthrough instead of a modern circular connector
  • Ground support and vintage aircraft maintainer matching an existing MS3102A 14S footprint on a panel that already has the four hole cutout drilled
  • Machine builder taking five conductors through an enclosure wall where a keyed, threaded coupling is worth more than a friction fit plug
  • Test bench builder soldering a five wire harness into the cups and labeling the leads A through E straight off the molded insert

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the pin half or the socket half?

Pin half. The P at the end of MS3102A14S-5P means pin contacts, and the photos back it up: five male pins on the mating face, five solder cups on the back. It mates with the socket version of the same 14S-5 insert arrangement, so confirm the exact plug part number against your drawing before you order the other end.

What current and wire gauge will the contacts take?

Not confirmed. The insert is a standard 14S-5 arrangement, but we do not have a contact rating documented for this unit. Check the MIL-DTL-5015 insert arrangement table or the Amphenol datasheet for 14S-5 before you size wire to it.

What actually ships, and is any hardware or a mating plug included?

The receptacle by itself, exactly as photographed. No mounting screws, no backshell, no mating plug, no dust cap. The photos are the packing list on that point.

Will it drop into an existing MS3102A 14S panel cutout?

It is the standard square four hole flange for this shell size, and we shoot it against the PartsMine millimeter ruler so you can scale it against the panel you have. We are deliberately not publishing a measured flange dimension taken off a photograph. If you are cutting a fresh panel, work from the MS3102A dimension drawing, not from our pictures.

I only need one of these for a single panel. Do I have to take a lot to get it?

No. Buy the count you actually need, one for the chassis in front of you or a second to sit in the spares drawer. The usual alternative for an olive drab MS connector is a mixed surplus bag or a forced lot of ten, where you sort through unknown shell sizes and hope one of them is a 14S with five pins. Here the part number, the insert arrangement, and the condition are all photographed before you click. Shipping is $8 flat rate and free once the order passes $28, and orders leave our Idaho warehouse the same or next business day.

Olive drab, five pins, and a threaded collar from the era when a connector was expected to stay put through vibration, weather, and a mechanic in a hurry. The solder cups are still empty, which means the wiring list that fills them is going to be yours.
