WIMA Parts
WIMA was founded in 1948 by Wilhelm Westermann in Unna, Germany, moved its head office to Mannheim in 1956, and is known for paper and plastic film capacitors. It is privately owned and builds its capacitors in Germany.
The WIMA parts here are film capacitors: MKS 4 metallized polyester capacitors on 10 mm lead pitch, FKP 1 high pulse capacitors, MP 3 class Y safety capacitors for AC-line use, and small-value film capacitors.
How to pick one: match the capacitance, the voltage and the lead pitch. Replace a Y-class capacitor with another Y-class part of the same rating, since those sit across the line where a failure could shock a user.
