Contrinex LRS-3031-304 is a compact rectangular retroreflective photoelectric sensor operating on 10-36 V DC with a PNP Dark-On (D.O.) output. Frequently Asked Questions
Does this sensor include a reflector?
No. A separate reflector is required for retroreflective operation and is not included with this unit. Contrinex-compatible reflectors are widely available from industrial automation suppliers.
Is this PNP or NPN, and does it matter for my system?
This is a PNP output sensor. The output switches positive voltage to the load when active. If your PLC or controller requires an NPN (sinking) input, this sensor is not compatible without signal conversion. Verify your input card type before ordering.
What does Dark-On switching mean?
Dark-On means the output is active when the light beam is interrupted - that is, when an object is present and blocking the return beam. If you need the output active when the beam is received (Light-On / normally open by beam), you need a different variant. Confirm your switching logic matches your application before ordering.
What power supply does this sensor require?
10-36 V DC. AC power supplies are not compatible. The power supply should include a smoothing capacitor and must not exceed the no-load voltage rating. Standard 24 V DC industrial supplies are typical for this class of sensor.
What connector and wiring does this sensor use?
M8 3-pin connector. Wiring is Brown (V+), Blue (GND), Black (signal output). Verify your existing harness or cable assembly uses an M8 3-pin mating connector before installation.
