What crimp tool and die sizes are required?

Installation requires a hex crimp tool with two die sizes: 0.068" (1.7 mm) for the center contact and 0.213" (5.4 mm) for the outer ferrule. Amphenol CTL-1 is a compatible tool. Standard pliers or non-hex crimp tools will not produce a reliable termination.

Will this connector work with RG-8, RG-213, or RG-174 cable?

No. This connector is sized for mid-range 50-ohm cables - RG-58, RG-141, RG-142, RG-223, and LMR-195. It is incompatible with larger cables such as RG-8 or RG-213 and smaller miniature cables such as RG-174 or RG-316. A different connector variant is required for those cable types.

Can this be used with 75-ohm BNC cables or video systems?

Physical mating with a 75-ohm BNC plug is possible, but this connector is rated at 50 ohms. Using it in a 75-ohm system will cause impedance mismatch and signal reflections. For video or cable television applications, a 75-ohm BNC connector is required.

What panel thickness and cutout does this require?

Panel cutout is 0.510" (13.0 mm) diameter with a D-flat edge to prevent the connector from rotating after installation. Maximum panel thickness is 0.138" (3.5 mm). Panels thicker than that will not allow the locknut to engage the threads securely.

A proper bulkhead connection is invisible once it's done - no wiggle, no rotation, no exposed threads. This is the part that makes the panel look like it was always supposed to be there.
