AMP Parts

AMP started in 1941 as Aircraft and Marine Products, making solderless crimp connections for aircraft and ships. Tyco bought AMP in 1999, and Tyco Electronics became TE Connectivity in 2011, so AMP is now a TE brand.

The AMP parts here are BNC male plugs for coaxial cable, including COAXICON crimp plugs, for thin 50 ohm cable such as RG-174 and RG-316 and for RG-59 and RG-62 size cable.

When you replace a BNC plug, match the cable it was built for and the impedance; a crimp plug sized for RG-59 will not fit RG-174, and the crimp ferrule has to match the cable jacket.
