Product Overview

Beckman Helipot Model B Wirewound Potentiometer, 10K Ohm, Unused NOS

Condition

Unused, new old stock, clean and in excellent condition. The case is marked Model B R10K L.50, Helipot, Beckman Instruments, Inc., with CW and CCW at the terminal rows, and the top face carries factory inspection stamps, a boxed 47 and a circled mark. The solder visible on the terminal lugs is factory tinning from original manufacture, not a sign of prior service - this unit has never been wired into equipment. The stainless shaft, threaded brass bushing, locknut, and anti-rotation hardware are all present, along with a small brass tab stamped S at the base of the case. One unit available.

Product Overview

The Beckman Helipot Model B R10K L.50 is a multi-turn wirewound precision potentiometer rated at 10,000 ohms. Wirewound construction gives stable, repeatable resistance settings, and the multi-turn operation spreads the full 10K range across several rotations for fine adjustment. It is a panel-mount design intended for equipment where a control has to be set precisely and stay put. The unit photographed carries crisp factory markings and inspection stamps, and its factory-tinned lugs are ready for your connections - unused new old stock, never installed.

Key Features

  • Resistance: 10,000 ohms (10K)
  • Construction: wirewound element
  • Operation: multi-turn for fine-resolution adjustment
  • Mounting: panel mount, threaded bushing with locknut and anti-rotation hardware
  • Condition: unused new old stock, factory-tinned terminal lugs

Applications

  • Calibration bench work needing a stable, finely adjustable resistance
  • Technician restoring legacy industrial or lab equipment that specified a Helipot
  • Analog audio builder using a wirewound multi-turn pot for set-and-forget trim

Frequently Asked Questions

How many turns is it?

Not confirmed - it is a multi-turn design, but we have not verified the exact turn count. Ask before ordering and we will check the unit.

What are the shaft dimensions and power rating?

Not confirmed - verify against the Beckman Model B datasheet before use, or contact us and we will measure the shaft for you.

Has it been used or pulled from equipment?

No. This is an unused new old stock unit. The solder on the terminal lugs is factory tinning applied when the pot was built, not evidence of prior wiring. The case, markings, shaft, and mounting hardware all photograph clean. If you want a bench check of resistance and travel before you buy, ask and we will meter it.

Can it be wired as a rheostat?

Like most three-terminal potentiometers it can be wired wiper-to-end as a two-terminal variable resistance. Its current rating is not confirmed on our end - verify against the datasheet before use.

Why buy a single Helipot here instead of hunting a bulk auction lot?

PartsMine sells the exact quantity you need - here, one pot for one panel. Shipping is $8 flat rate, free over $28, which this unit clears on its own, and there is no forced lot of mixed pulls to gamble on. Same or next business day shipping from Idaho.

Helipot is the name Beckman gave the helical potentiometer, and for decades instrument makers reached for it when a setting had to be exact. This one is still waiting for its first assignment - the panel it lands in is yours to build.
