Product Overview
As part of the M68000 family of peripherals, the MC68681 dual universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (DUART) is directly connected to the MC68000 processor via an asynchronous bus. Eight major sections make up the MC68681: internal control logic, timing logic, interrupt control logic, an 8-bit data bus buffer in bidirectional mode, two independent communication channels (A and B), a parallel port with a 6-bit input, and a parallel port with an 8-bit output.
