Condition
Used, in great cosmetic condition with very little signs of use. We do not have the setup to fully test these units, so they are sold untested. The photographs show the two units in stock: black anodized brushed aluminum housings, crisp white legend printing, and clean orange TIP / RING / GND terminal blocks. The top label reads COM200 MODEM with Campbell Scientific Inc., Logan UT., FCC Registration No. B9QUSA-31402-MM-T, Ringer Equivalence 0.5A, Required Connector USOC RJ11C, and MADE IN USA. Serial stickers read SN: 1955 and SN: 3634, and an Industry Canada label reading 802 8134 A sits on the connector end of each unit. Light handling scuffs show on the anodized sides, the RJ11 contacts and the 9-pin CS I/O pins are bright and undamaged, and the mounting flanges with their keyhole slots are straight. In the photos, one unit carries an extra green two-position pluggable connector beside its RJ11 jack and the other does not, and one unit has a small sealed bag of hardware taped to its side. No photo shows both extras on the same unit or ties either one to a serial number.

Product Overview
The COM200 is Campbell Scientific's field telephone modem for remote data transfer, built in Logan, Utah and marked MADE IN USA on the top label. It hangs off the datalogger's 9-pin CS I/O port, draws its 12 VDC from the logger, and answers or dials over an ordinary voice-grade line so an unattended station can send its data without anyone driving out to it. Supported loggers include the CR510, CR10(X), 21X(L), CR7, CR23X, and CR5000. The line side is an RJ11C jack, with an orange three-position screw terminal block on the top face legended TIP, RING, and GND for hardwired connections. The whole thing lives in a rugged extruded aluminum case with screwed-on end panels, open connector cutouts, and keyhole mounting flanges at each end, sized for the inside of a field enclosure rather than a desk.

Has this modem been tested?
No. We do not have a Campbell Scientific logger and a dial-up line set up on the bench, so it is sold untested. What we can tell you is what the photos show: clean connectors, undamaged pins, intact labels, and only light handling marks on the case. Operation is not confirmed - verify against the Campbell Scientific COM200 manual before you commit it to an unattended station.
What is included?
The Campbell Scientific COM200 modem only. No cables, phone cord, power leads, or software. Among the two photographed units, one has an extra green two-position connector fitted next to the RJ11 jack and one has a small sealed bag of hardware taped to its side, and the photos do not show whether that is the same unit; either way, we are not promising those extras as part of the sale. If you want a specific serial number or the extras confirmed before you order, message us and we will look at the actual piece on the shelf.
How does the phone line connect - jack or terminals?
Both are on the unit. There is an RJ11C jack on the connector end for a standard phone cord, and an orange three-position screw terminal block on the top face legended TIP, RING, and GND for a hardwired line coming into a field enclosure. The label lists Ringer Equivalence 0.5A and pulse or tone dialing.
Why buy one or two COM200 units here instead of a bulk lot elsewhere?
