Product Overview
Unused, new old stock Stainless steel jacketed cartridge heater with 36" insulated leads. Approximate heater dimensions are 4" long by .25" diameter.
What are cartridge heaters used for?
Cartridge heaters are typically used to heat metal parts such as dies, plates, molds, and drilled holes in metal parts. Applications involving liquid immersion are also possible with these devices.
An important note on cartridge heater life:
Heat dissipation efficiency is one of the most critical factors affecting the life of a cartridge heater. An improper fit in the hole is the most common cause of cartridge heater failure. An air-surrounded heater can't efficiently dissipate heat since air is an excellent thermal insulator. This results in much higher temperatures for the internal Nichrome wire heating element and its ultimate demise. Therefore, cartridge heaters should have the tightest fit possible for a given application if they're going to last longer.
