Listed New. The SK930 sits inside its original RCA hang bag, which carries a crimped seam across the top and bottom edges, and every photo here was taken through that film, including the closeups of the part itself. Behind the printed label is a folded yellow spec sheet from RCA's Distributor and Special Products Division in Deptford, New Jersey. The label carries the SK930 number, the line "Thermal Cutoff Device 240°C Limit", a boxed 8242 code and a dimension diagram, and the bag is printed Made in U.S.A. The component itself is a dark cylindrical body with a white tapered section at one lead end and long axial leads; printing on the body is only partly legible through the plastic, so we are not transcribing it. A thermal cutoff opens once and does not reset, which means it cannot be verified without being destroyed, so this one has not been tested and is offered on its markings and the photos. The RCA SK930 is a thermal cutoff device with a 240°C limit in an axial lead package, the format used when a temperature fuse has to sit in line with a winding, a heater lead or a hot spot on a chassis. The mechanical spec comes straight off the diagram printed on the bag label: 3.34 inches (84.8 mm) overall including leads, a 0.457 inch (11.6 mm) body section, a 1.38 inch span called out at the right-hand lead, whose millimetre figure has a broken leading digit on the print and is not transcribed here, and a 0.158 inch (4.01 mm) body diameter. A thermal cutoff is a one-shot part by design, holding the circuit closed until its rated temperature arrives and then opening permanently, which is why it shows up in equipment where an overheat is supposed to end in a hard stop rather than a retry. SK930 is RCA's own SK replacement-line number, the series service techs cross-referenced into when they needed a part for a set on the bench, and the folded sheet in the bag is the paperwork that shipped with it.
