Product Overview

Banner DXMR90-4K is a compact 4-port IO-Link Master built to connect smart sensors directly to industrial Ethernet networks and cloud platforms. It serves as the hub for Banner's Snap Signal ecosystem, translating IO-Link device data into EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET simultaneously. Designed for on-machine mounting, it eliminates the need for large control cabinets while enabling condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. With built-in logic capability and support for MicroPython scripting, it can process data at the edge before sending it upstream.

Key Features

  • Model: DXMR90-4K
  • Four M12 female IO-Link master ports
  • Supports COM1 (4.8 kbps), COM2 (38.4 kbps), COM3 (230.4 kbps)
  • Simultaneous protocol support: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET
  • MQTT and RESTful API support for cloud connectivity
  • Supply voltage: 12 to 30 V DC (24 V DC typical)
  • Total device current limit: 3.5 A
  • Up to 700 mA per port (Pin 1) for connected devices
  • Operating temperature: -40 C to +70 C
  • IP67 and IP68 environmental ratings

Applications

  • Condition monitoring of vibration, temperature, and pressure sensors
  • Predictive maintenance systems on legacy machines
  • Machine retrofits adding IO-Link capability without redesigning controls
  • Robotic end-of-arm tooling and conveyor side-rail installations
  • Edge data collection for cloud dashboards and analytics
  • Bridging discrete signals into Ethernet-based PLC networks

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work with any IO-Link sensor?

It supports standard IO-Link devices across COM1, COM2, and COM3 speeds. Confirm your sensor's power draw does not exceed 700 mA per port and that your system operates within the 12 to 30 V DC range.

Can it run without a control cabinet?

Yes. The housing is rated IP67 and IP68 for on-machine mounting. It is designed for surface mounting using M4 or #8 screws.

Does it support multiple industrial protocols at the same time?

Yes. It can communicate over EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET simultaneously while also supporting MQTT and REST APIs for cloud integration.

Has this unit been tested?

It is listed as untested and described as used in good condition. It was removed from surplus equipment and is backed by our commitment to work with you if any issue arises.

How much power can it supply to connected devices?

Each IO-Link port can supply up to 700 mA, with a total device current limit of 3.5 A. Ensure your connected devices stay within these limits.

When a machine needs better data without a full controls overhaul, this is the kind of hardware that makes it practical. Mount it close, power it cleanly, and let the sensors talk.
