Banner Engineering QS18VP6AF100 is a World-Beam QS18 series mechanically adjustable background suppression sensor. It uses triangulation to detect objects within a defined range — 20 mm to 100 mm — and ignores anything beyond that cutoff regardless of background reflectivity. The sensor outputs a PNP complementary signal (Light-Operate and Dark-Operate) and runs on 10-30V DC. Connection is via a 2 m (6.5 ft) 4-wire integral cable. Does this sensor include a connector, or does it have an integral cable?
It has a 2 m (6.5 ft) 4-wire integral cable — no connector. If your machine has an M12 or M8 connector socket, you will need to splice the cable or source a QD connector variant such as the QS18VP6AF100Q5 or QS18VP6AF100Q8 instead.
Can this sensor detect objects beyond 100 mm?
No. The 100 mm figure is the maximum cutoff of the adjustable range. Objects beyond that distance are intentionally ignored. The minimum sensing distance is 20 mm.

A standard diffuse sensor triggers on any object that reflects enough light back to the receiver — including backgrounds. This sensor uses triangulation to establish a hard distance cutoff, so backgrounds beyond 100 mm are suppressed regardless of their reflectivity or size.
