Does this sensor require a reflector?
Yes. The QM26VPLPQ5 operates in polarized retroreflective mode and requires a polarized reflector to function. A standard non-polarized reflector will work at reduced performance, but a polarized reflector is recommended to prevent false detection off shiny metal objects.
Will this work with a standard 4-pin M12 cable?
No. The "Q5" in the model number designates a 5-pin M12 pigtail connector. A standard 4-pin M12 cable will not mate correctly and will leave functions unconnected. Verify you have or can source a 5-pin M12 cable before ordering.
Is the output NPN or PNP?
PNP. The "P" in QM26VP designates PNP output. The NPN variant is the QM26VN. This sensor is not compatible with NPN-only control systems.
Is a reflector included?
No reflector is included. A compatible polarized reflector must be sourced separately.
