Product Overview
Kurt J. Lesker QF40-150-C is a die-cast aluminum hinged clamp for KF40 (NW40 / QF40) vacuum flange connections. It compresses a centering ring and O-ring assembly between two mating KF40 flanges to form a high-vacuum-rated seal. Closure is by wing nut - tightened by hand, no tools required. Compliant with ISO 2861. Compatible with 1.5-inch (38.1 mm) tube OD flanges.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which flange size does this clamp fit?
KF40 only - also designated NW40 or QF40. It will not fit KF10, KF16, KF25, or KF50 flanges. It is not compatible with ConFlat (CF) or ISO-K bolted flange systems.
What else is needed to make a sealed connection?
This clamp alone does not seal. You need two KF40 flanges and one KF40 centering ring with O-ring. The clamp compresses the centering ring assembly to form the seal.
Is aluminum acceptable for my application, or do I need stainless?
Aluminum is suitable for most general high-vacuum work. For corrosive environments, cleanroom semiconductor processes, or higher mechanical load applications, consider the stainless steel variant QF40-150-CS.
Is this clamp rated for ultra-high vacuum (UHV)?
No. KF-style connections using elastomer O-rings are rated for High Vacuum - typically to approximately 10-8 Torr. UHV systems at 10-10 Torr and below require ConFlat (CF) hardware with metal gaskets.
Verify rotational clearance before ordering if this clamp will be installed in a tightly packed manifold - the wing nut requires room to turn for full tightening.
