What is an Overload Heater? Thermal overload heaters are used in overload relays to protect electric motors from overcurrent. They are typically low-resistance metal strips that generate heat when the electric motor draws power from the current, mimicking the motor's thermal properties. They do not burn open like fuses and do not interrupt power directly.
